Welcome to the Alex Abuyuan Children's Mission. Our purpose is to support the cause of orphan children in the Philippines. Back in 2004 Alex Abuyuan had a chance to visit his families' birthland for the first time in his life. It was there he understood the plight of children abandoned by their parents to the care of the municipalities and faith based organizations due to their inability to feed them. It was then he decided to make a difference.

About The JMJ Holy Family Foundation

FORMATION: The JMJ Holy Family Foundation was formed in 1998 and obtained non-profit status in 2002.

MISSION STATEMENT: To be God's co-workers in bringing renewal and transformation to the underprivileged children. To instill and provide in the children Christian family values. To provide a facility for education and vocational skill development. To provide assistance in finding gainful employment.

TARGET: Streetchildren and abandoned children - 15 years and under.

ADDITIONAL SUPPORT: The foundation continues to help, in a limited way, some of the needs of a religious order of Christian Missionaries: the Order of Augustinian Discalced (OAD). The OAD is a mendicant order, which relies solely in the generosity of the benefactors. This OAD community is located on the Philippine region of Cebu, Butuan and in Ormoc City. We help to provide help with tuition, room and board, etc. These priests and brothers are a powerful presence in the faith formation for the boys at the Santa Rita Boy's Home. They will be involved in the day to day operation of the children so it is important that we also support them. They have many seminarians in training as well as attending school. The OAD seminarians are not only Filipinos but from non-Christian countries such as Pakistan, India, Indonesia and Nigeria. These future priests will return as missionaries to their respective countries when they are ordained to the priesthood.

About Alex Abuyuan

I grew up in a military family, a Navy family born on an U.S. Navy base in Morocco of all places in 1960. I guess you could say I am truly an African-American! But my racial background is Filipino and my nationality is American through and through.

I spent my early years following my Father's Navy career years bouncing from Navy base to Navy base until he retired in Fremont CA before going into 7th grade. I graduated high school from American High School in Fremont in 1978, #2 in my class and earned an appointment to the United States Air Force Academy. Graduated from there in 1982 and went back to the San Francisco bay area to fly satellites at the Air Force Satellite Control Facility in Sunnyvale, CA (now named Onizuka Air Force Station).

After four years there, changed stations to Wright Patterson Air Force Base in Dayton OH where I finished up my Air Force career seeking greener pastures in the corporate world as a defense contractor consultant with two companies over about 7 years. After a short three year stint as an executive recruiter, became a life insurance General Agent building an national agency to $23 million a year.

Okay, I had to give you the work resume because that is how people generally judge each other. So that is a very shallow glimpse of who I am.

I am a servant of Christ who has saved me from my sins through His suffering and dying on the cross, and then rising from the dead to conquer eternal death from the deceiver to give me the chance at everlasting life. My life experience has been one of chasing the world first and then realizing my happiness was in chasing Christ and God's will for me.

My other mission in life is to be the best husband to my wife Ginny and the best father to my five children, Zoe, Athan, Maddie, Nick and Izzie. God has truly blessed me with the gift of my family from whom I learn how much I must rely on the Lord's strength to be the best I can be for them.

My ministry started in music through my praise and worship band, The Nearer to God Band ( And I continue that ministry as God wills it. A secondary ministry is one of Christian Life Coaching where I help people find their way to successfully discern and do God's will in their lives (

This ministry continues my service to the Master.alex abuyuan

I will leave you with some encouraging bible verses that I found to be helpful…

“These things I have spoken to you, so that in Me you may have peace. In the world you have tribulation, but take courage; I have overcome the world.” John 16:33

God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth should change and though the mountains slip into the heart of the sea; though its waters roar and foam, though the mountains quake at its swelling pride. Selah. The LORD of hosts is with us; the God of Jacob is our stronghold. Selah. Psalm 46:1-3,7

‘Do not fear, for I am with you; do not anxiously look about you, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, surely I will help you, surely I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.’ Isaiah 41:10

For God did not give us a spirit of timidity (of cowardice, of craven and cringing and fawning fear), but [He has given us a spirit] of power and of love and of calm and well-balanced mind and discipline and self-control. 2 Tim 1:7 (AMP)

I have set the Lord continually before me; because He is at my right hand, I shall not be moved. Psalm 16:8 (AMP)

Cast your burden on the Lord [releasing the weight of it] and He will sustain you; He will never allow the [consistently] righteous to be moved (made to slip, fall, or fail). Psalm 55:22 (AMP)

He only is my Rock and my Salvation; He is my Defense and my Fortress, I shall not be moved. Psalm 62:6 (AMP)

Casting the whole of your care [all your anxieties, all your worries, all your concerns, once and for all] on Him, for He cares for you affectionately and cares about you watchfully. 1 Peter 5:7 (AMP)

The Lord is good, a Strength and Stronghold in the day of trouble; He knows (recognizes, has knowledge of, and understands) those who take refuge and trust in Him. Nahum 1:7 (AMP)

“The steadfast of mind You will keep in perfect peace, Because he trusts in You. Isaiah 26:3
